Part II Architectural Assistant

James Lawton joined Lapworth Architects in 2018 as a Part II Qualified Architect, after completing his RIBA Part I at the University of Plymouth and his RIBA Part II at Birmingham City University.

James has worked in various sectors across architecture, including public buildings, commercial/industrial and also on luxury residential projects. James has experience with a number of conservation projects, early stage conceptual development and building regulations.

This wide experience has provided him with an in-depth understanding of the planning system, giving him the confidence to secure planning permission for a variety of developments.

In James’s free time, he enjoys entertaining his young daughters, playing basketball and going for walks in the Lickey hills.
