New premium housing in the green belt
Bourne Fields is one of the projects we’re most proud of, as it was a complex project that involved creating green belt housing and also retaining an access road to a quarry on the outskirts of the village of Aldridge, between Walsall and Sutton Coldfield.
In common with other developments of large homes in suburban locations we’ve done, there is a premium placed on space and open-plan living, to offer the greatest flexibility to the inhabitants and to futureproof their dwelling well into the next decade.
Unique designs with contemporary touches
Each house on the development was unique, with a mixture of more traditional gabled houses with bay windows and porches, as well as more modern L-shaped farmhouse-style homes with floor-to-ceiling glazing.
With each house being strikingly different, Lapworth Architects was able to show how green belt housing can be a combination of both heritage and contemporary-inspired architecture that respects the openness of its surroundings.
